While that is fine by most car owners, those who are speed junkies probably need to an upgrade here. How Does It Work? When the brake pedal is pushed, pressure is transferred through the brake fluid, pushing the piston into the disc brake's caliper. The caliper then squeezes the brake pads against the brake rotor causing friction that slows down its movement. Heat is generated from friction when the brake pads rub against the rotor.
