Honda CR-Z Specification & Maintenance

Honda CR-Z
The Honda CR-Z was a sport compact hybrid electric automobile manufactured by Honda and marketed as a "sport hybrid coupe." The CR-Z combines a hybrid gasoline-electric powertrain with traditional sports car elements.
The CR-Z is the sixth unique version of Honda's Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) technology since the technology was first launched in the first generation Insight 3 door hatchback. Sales of the CR-Z began in Japan in February 2010.
IMA - Integrated Motor Assist
The Honda IMA (Integrated Motor Assist) System provides you with better fuel economy.  An electric motor assists the vehicle's gasoline engine when accelerating, and reduces the load on the engine to improve the fuel economy.  When decelerating, the turning wheels activate the electric motor, which generates electric power to charge the IMA battery.  When you come to a stop, an Auto Idle Stop function shuts off the engine under certain conditions.
The IMA battery's voltage is extremely high (100 volts - Nickel-Metal Hydride battery).  This battery is located under the luggage area and there are no maintenance tasks you can safely perform.  Never try to remove or disassemble it.

The required maintenance schedule specifies all maintenance required to keep your vehicle in peak operating condition.

If you drive your vehicle under one or more of the following severe conditions, the items described below must be serviced according to the maintenance schedule indicated as SEVERE.

Severe driving conditions:
> Driving less than 8 km per trip.
> Driving in extremely hot (over 35°C) conditions.
> Extensive idling or long periods of stop-and-go driving.
> Driving on muddy or dusty roads.
