2009 to 2012 Audi A4, A4 Cabriolet & A4 Quattro Owners Gain Estimated 13.5 HP with K&N Air Intake

Image
K&N continues to improve vehicle performance through its continuous production of new air intake systems guaranteed to increase horsepower and acceleration. K&N's air intake for 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Audi A4, A4 Cabriolet and A4 Quattro models with a 2.0 liter engine is just another example of K&N's dedication to outstanding performance. The Audi A4 is an entry-level luxury car with elegant styling and sharp handling. The 2.0 liter engine however, lacks the power one would expect from such a prestigious car.  K&N product developers looked at the restrictive factory intake setup of the Audi A4 and immediately knew they could achieve more horsepower. "Along with a body change in 2009, the Audi A4 air box was also relocated," said product manager Bert Heck. "We had to start from scratch. Our ultimate goal was to get as much power out of the vehicle as we could without affecting the drivability of the vehicle. Older A4 model designs made doin

Motor Oil Guide! Which oil is right for you?

API'S CERTIFICATION MARK AND SERVICE SYMBOL identify quality motor oils for gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles.  Oils displaying these marks meet performance requirements set by U.S. and international vehicle and engine manufacturers and the lubricant industry.  More than 500 companies worldwide participate in this voluntary program, which is backed by a marketplace sampling and testing program. THE API CERTIFICATION MARK, ALSO KNOWN AS THE 'STARBUST' An oil displaying this mark meets the current engine protection standard and fuel economy requirements of the International Lubricant Standardization and Approval Committee (ILSAC), a joint effort of U.S. and Japanese automobile manufacturers.  Automobile manufacturers recommend oils that carry the API Certification Mark.  See the ILSAC STANDARD FOR PASSENGER CAR ENGINE OILS chart below for descriptions of current and obsolete ILSAC standards. Kia Cerato K3 Owners Gain Horsepower with K&N Air Intake System

Image
We all know the performance parts industry was developed by guys that modified their cars because they could, not because they had to. Here at K&N we keep that same spirit by taking something that is good and making it better, just because we can. The R&D department at K&N has liberated airflow on Kia Cerato K3 models by modifying and improving the air intake path.  By freeing up the airflow with this  air intake system we're allowing your car the ability to increase its power. Using a chassis dyno we've tested the Kia Cerato K3 and estimate it will gain an additional 5.6 horsepower at 5,383 RPM. In addition to the increase in horsepower we estimate this air intake will add 3.72 lb-ft of torque at 4775 RPM. Not too shabby considering this intake can usually be  installed  in less than ninety minutes. Not only is this air intake designed to increase power, it looks good while doing it. This kit  compliments the sleek look of Kia's engine bay with a high-qual

Kia Forte Owners Gain an Estimated 7 Horsepower with K&N Intake

One bonus about a sport compact vehicle is the great fuel efficiency. Most sport compact vehicles can achieve 30 plus miles per gallon but they sacrifice horsepower while doing it. The ideal sport compact vehicle would combine the two but that's hard to find.  One way to help a sport compact vehicle get more power is with a K&N air intake system.  K&N has been producing performance air filters for over 40 years. These filters reduce restriction so your vehicle doesn't have to work as hard to bring in air.  In addition to the filter K&N air intakes are also designed to reduce air restriction. This kit  is specifically designed for Kia Forte models.  It has a heat shield that helps direct cooler outside air into the engine.  Cool air and low restriction can result in added power and this air intake system has been tested and shown to increase power.   K&N testing on 2010 Kia Forte models with 2.0 liter engines has shown an estimated power gain of 7.4 horsepower a

Toyota Vios '08-'12 Owners Gain 4.56 HP with K&N Air Intake System

Image
In the economy car wars, the Toyota Vios is holding its own despite strong competition. Its electric power steering setup takes away the engine-driven hydraulic pump of traditional power steering systems, giving it a natural even feel when driving. K&N Engineering has released a high flow air intake system with a flat black aluminum tube for the 2008-2012 Toyota Vios 1.5 liter engine. The flat black K&N tube gives our system an OE look. Along with good looks comes additional performance for the engine. K&N dynamometer tests show a 4.56 horsepower gain for the 2008 Vios @ 5088 RPM.  By using a CNC mass air sensor pad K&N is able to keep the Vios running within its factory settings. There is no need to reprogram the factory settings after installation. The conical K&N air filter  is designed to provide increased surface area and dust capacity. Its placement takes advantage of the factory fresh air duct to feed the K&N air filter outside air.  This kit

Honda CR-Z with K&N Air Intake Cranks Up Power and Performance

Image
By unveiling of a new sport hybrid coupe for the North American market, Honda blurred the lines between performance and environmental responsibility with the 2011 and 2012 Honda CR-Z. Complete with a 1.5L i-VTEC engine and Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid-electric system, this uniquely designed hybrid is geared for the driver looking for a way to both protect the environment and have a little fun on the road. K&N shares these same ideals by offering washable and reusable high flow air filters and intake systems that cut down on disposable filter waste while adding power and performance. The new  Typhoon Air Intake System does just that for the Honda CR-Z. The  intake comes complete with a free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum tube and oversized high flow X-Stream top air filter, all in a ready to install bolt-on system for your CR-Z.  "The Honda CR-Z is a new vehicle platform and required new development of major kit components," says K&N Performance Kit M
